Matthew was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1977. He began showing a talent early for the stage and was cast as the understudy for the title role in New York’s Suza Scholarship production of ‘Oliver’.
Through his early years he was involved in many school and community theater projects with some memorable performances in ‘Lend Me A Tenor’ and ‘The King and I’. In high school he performed in such shows as ‘Hello Dolly’, ‘Once Upon A Mattress’, ‘Dracula’, ‘Oklahoma’, and ‘Amadeus’.
He was a selected member of the state’s All County Chorus all four years and in his senior year was named Best Actor for the role of Curly in ‘Oklahoma’.
Matthew attended and received a BFA in Musical Theater from the University of Tampa. During his college years he appeared in ‘Personals – The Musical’, ‘The Crucible’, ‘Into The Woods’, ‘The Boy’s Next Door’, and ‘Voice of the Prairie’. In his senior year he was awarded the Delo Music Award and the Outstanding Theater Award.
Upon graduation Matthew was cast in the big budget musical spectacular ‘Ben Hur: The Musical’ in the role of Malloch and relocated to Orlando. While in Orlando Matthew also performed at the local theme parks in various capacities and performed the role of ‘Joey’ in a satellite production on ‘Tony and Tina’s Wedding’. He was also a cast member of ‘Stale Magnolias’ which won the Patrons Pick Award at the Orlando Fringe Festival.
Seeking new challenges Matthew made the move back to New York in 2004. Since his return Matthew has appeared in commercials for Sanofi Aventis, Bennotti Coffee, Lufthansa Airlines, and the New Jersey Devils.
Matthew has also had the distinct pleasure of working for Dramatic Solutions (a traveling business theatre company) and Unbelievea-bills Children’s Theatre in NJ.
He was also cast alongside Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji in the role of Stan in the film ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ which was released worldwide in 2007.
Matthew is under exclusive contract with Marvel Studio’s portraying Spider-Man in all of their promo shows and live appearances worldwide.
